Rhodopids The real Cinderella

Did you know that the story of Cinderella is not a fairy tale; it actually happened in the Pharaonic era? Yes, Cinderella is a real-life character and was called Rhodopids.

Who is Rhodopids?

Many Egyptian historians and writers claim that the story of Cinderella is originally an ancient Egyptian story that occurred in the 19th Pharaonic Dynasty.
This story was written in papyrus, and the original story is about a girl called Rhodopids in the city of Memphis.
She was a very beautiful little girl. She lived a quiet life with her rich father and her mother in a large house, and she lived a happy life full of luxury until her mother fell seriously ill, causing her to lie in bed for several months, and then she died.

Of course, there was no witch in Rhodopid's life, as the story of Cinderella says, but her mother was her muse who helped her. Before her death, she gave her young daughter a beautiful pair of shoes made of deer leather with small pieces of gold and silver and told her that these shoes belonged to her grandmother, then her mother, and now they would belong to her after her mother.

The father's marriage to another woman

After the death of her mother, her father married another woman to take care of his young daughter, Rhodopids, especially since he traveled a lot and left her alone at home.
He thought that his marriage to another woman would help Rhodopids feel a mother’s affection again. Later, her stepmother gave birth to two young girls, and they were less beautiful than Rhodopids.

Her father's wife was an unrighteous woman, and she was never fair between Rhodopids and her daughters.
She even made her sisters hate her and treated her with cruelty and hatred all the time.
As soon as her father died, Rhodopids officially became their servant. They even stopped pretending to be nice to her in front of people, and no one cared about her. After her father died, which made her suffered harshly.

King's party

Years passed, and Rhodopids grew up to become a beautiful and fair girl, which made her stepmother and sisters hate her even more and treat her badly over and over again.

One day, the governor of the state wanted his son, the prince, to marry a girl from a wealthy, noble family.

So he invited all the nobles, gentlemen, women, and all good wealthy families, and she was Rhodopids’ stepmother.

One of them, she went there with her two daughters and left Rhodopids at home to clean and cook and refused to take her with her to the party.

Rhodopids was a beautiful and strong girl as well, so she decided to go as well and not give in to her stepmother's orders, she put on a dress that she had secretly sewn for herself and opened her shoe box to look for a suitable shoe.

Then she found that she had to clean her feet, so she took the golden shoes that her mother had given her before her death and started outside.

She was washing her feet and the shoe was next to her, and while she was washing her feet, an eagle came from the sky very quickly like lightning and took one shoe and flew away, and Rhodopids could not catch the shoe, and of course she did not go to the king's party.

The prince and the golden shoe

When the eagle flew over the prince’s garden, he threw the shoe in front of him in a strange coincidence that made the prince wonder about the secret of this shoe and its owner, and he thought it was a sign that he had chosen his new wife.

As the eagle had a high status among the Pharaohs, at the same time, the stepmother left the party when most people said that there was no chance for her daughters and continued to mock their ugliness and bad morals.

Minutes after they left, the prince asked all the girls at the party to try on the shoes, but they were not suitable for any girl in the palace.

Then one of them told him that a noble family had left the party a while ago, and there were two girls with their mother, and the shoe might belong to one of them, so the prince went to Their house, and the two daughters tried on the shoes, but it did not fit either of them.

Marriage of Prince and Rhodopids

There, Prince Rhodopids was working in the garden of the house, so he asked the landlady, “Who is this girl? ” The stepmother lied, saying: “She is the gardener’s daughter.” The prince did not care and went to her and asked her to try on the shoes, which were perfectly suitable for her. The king was also impressed by her beauty, so he decided that she was the girl he would marry.

The stepmother got very angry and said that this was not Rhodopid's shoe that it was just a coincidence, and that this poor girl could not wear such shoes, but Rhodopids said that she could prove that it was her shoe by showing the other pair of shoes, and she told the prince that she was not the gardener's daughter, but The daughter of a wealthy nobleman, and the old woman was her stepmother, and so the real Cinderella was destined to be the princess of the state and the wife of the prince.
