King Charles III diagnoses with Cancer

Buckingham Palace Announced King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer later on Monday and he could be out of his royal duties while his son Prince William will be the next king.

The 75-year-old King recently had treatment for an enlarged prostate, but in a statement released on Monday, the Palace clarified that this was not the result of prostate cancer. However, as a result of the prostate treatment, the cancer was found during later scans.

The announcement also says that on Monday, the monarch started undergoing treatment for cancer.

“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure” the statement quoted.

The King has canceled his royal duties, and other famous family members are anticipated to take his place. The King has decided to disclose information about his sickness to "avoid speculation" and increase public awareness for others who have been diagnosed with cancer, the Palace stated.

Following his father's cancer diagnosis, Prince Harry reportedly spoke with him, and in the coming days, he will visit the U.K., according to a Monday BBC report. After receiving his first medical treatment, the King returned to London from Sandringham, Norfolk.

Currently, Prince Edward, Princess Royal, Prince William, and Queen Camilla are all included in that. As non-working royals, Prince Harry and the Duke of York are no longer needed.

Since the King's admission to a private London clinic hospital on January 26 for scheduled surgery to treat his enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), his health has been under greater scrutiny from the public this month.

In addition, Prince William withdrew from public appearances for a while to assist his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, in her rehabilitation following an abdominal surgery that she underwent last month. However, it was previously said on Monday that he would resume his public duties at a later time this week.

Politicians from every corner of the United Kingdom have been wishing the monarch well. Posting on X, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak said, "Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery, "I have no doubt he'll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well."

The monarch received "thoughts and prayers" from Scotland's First Minister Humza Yousaf, who wished him "the very best for a speedy recovery and return to public life." Her Majesty the Queen and the other members of the Royal Family are also in my thoughts during what I know will be a difficult period for them all. Says Yousaf on X

Mark Drakeford, the First Minister of Wales, expressed his sadness at the news and conveyed his own and the people of Wales' sympathies to the royal family. he also wished him "Gwellhad buan," or "get well soon." In Welsh

Michelle O'Neill, the recently appointed First Minister of Northern Ireland, expressed her "deep regret" upon learning of the King's sickness. "I hope he receives the best care possible and recovers fully and quickly," she wished.

Talking to the King, US President Joe Biden expressed his concerns.

Following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, Charles took the throne.

Charles was well-known for taking long walks in the countryside and for having good health overall. He got Covid-19 twice, in 2020 and 2022, but both times he recovered quickly.

The King may assign portions of his duties to two or more Counsellors of State if his illness prevents him from performing them fully for an extended time.

The King's powers may be revoked and taken over by a regent if he were rendered totally incapable of carrying out his constitutional obligations to the point where the state could no longer operate as intended. Prince William would be the heir apparent to the crown under 1937 legislation.
